Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Unlike companies whose privacy policies read like 30-page terms written by lawyers billing by the word to obscure what they actually do with your data — we're going to tell you plainly. If we were doing something sketchy, we'd write a longer policy.

What We Collect

Here's what ends up on our servers when you use AnyTag:

  • Account info — your email address and name. That's it for sign-up.
  • Your watchlists and search history — the vehicles you've saved and the listings you've analyzed. This is literally the product working as intended.
  • Payment info — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see your card number. Stripe stores it; we get a token that says "yes, they paid."
  • Browser and device info — user-agent, IP address, request logs. Standard stuff for debugging when something breaks. We don't build profiles from this.
  • Affiliate click logs — when you click a parts link (e.g. RockAuto, eBay), we log that click so the merchant can pay us a commission. The log includes which link, when, and your IP. We're telling you this because most companies quietly bury it.
  • Vehicle photos sent for AI analysis — when you run a damage report, we pass Copart/IAAI image URLs to AI vision providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google). These run under commercial APIs; the providers do not use this data to train their models.

Why We Collect It

  • To run the service and show you your own data.
  • To send you price alerts and deal notifications you asked for.
  • To process your subscription through Stripe.
  • To improve the product — understanding how features get used helps us build better ones.
  • To debug things when they break (they sometimes break).

What We Don't Do

This is the section where most companies hide the uncomfortable stuff. Nothing to hide here:

  • We do not sell your data. Not to data brokers, not to anyone.
  • We do not share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not build advertising profiles on you.
  • We do not do anything with your data that we'd be embarrassed to tell you about.

Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in — without them you'd have to log in on every page load, which would be incredibly annoying. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. We do not drop ad-retargeting pixels. No "this site uses cookies" banner required because there's nothing creepy to banner-ize.

Data Storage

Your data lives on Cloudflare's infrastructure, primarily US-based. It's encrypted in transit (TLS) and encrypted at rest. We don't have a clever way to make this paragraph more interesting — it's just good hygiene.

Your Rights

You can access, export, or delete your data at any time. Just email support@anytag.com and we'll sort it out. No hoops, no 30-day waiting periods, no "we'll look into it." We're a small team — you'll get a human.

Changes to This Policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll email you. Not bury an update in a ToS revision you'll never see. If the change is something like fixing a typo, we won't flood your inbox — we'll just fix it and update the date at the top.
